On the evening of January 15, Prof. Haddock, feeling slightly indisposed and having taken some simple remedies, early retired to rest. An hour or two afterwards, it was found that life had departed, so gently that those present in the room had not even heard a sigh, or perceived so much as the movement of a finger.
