The boards are securely attached and have multiple figures on embossed on the cover, both front and back. The brass hardware is lacking and reminants of where it was placed remain, showing the aging of the pig skin binding that are a classic signal that it was bound in the Koberger bindery.

Our recent research into the imagery on the binding indicates that it may have been made for someone in the Tudor line, which extends from England to France. Of note are the Rose-in-the Rose:

As well as the Roses or such surrounding the Fleur de Lys (Lis) that is clearly an earlier version of the more stylized Fleur's found later:

We are further heartened by the running Stag, which was a popular Renaissance device but favored by the Tudor's as a sign of virility, fertility and of course, the hunt...

A fine example of the period binding and printing. There are multiple wood cuts and images throughout the text with flourished initials as well. The paper stock is heavy and well sized and still retains a stiffness.
