Rare American Ephemera include a variety of documents printed from the early beginnings of our country through to the 1900's. These items were produced by various printers and the government in runs of 1,000 copies to 10,000 copies at best. They include items where the President is speaking to requests from Congress about treaties, executive actions, state of specific affairs etc. and the Congress is reporting on various activities such as land sales, land reform, treaties with Native Americans (or lack thereof), projects and the state of the economy. Most important are the battles of philosophical, ethical, social and political will building to the Civil War. Many of these rare and difficult to find documents are speeches and reports from both sides of the slavery and commerce issue that separated the 'industrial' North from the Agraian South. Enjoy this catalog as we did putting it together for you!
